Don't Become a Ghost

I'm going to break with my policy of never posting anything on this blog not related to paranormal issues.

The reason is simple. Today marks election day in the United States. This is one of the most important elections we have faced in years. There are times when I think back over our rather short history as a nation (comparatively speaking with Europe) and think this might be the most important and most divisive we have faced since 1860.

The reason for this is simple. For the first time in recent memory we have a clear cut choice and the rare opportunity to completely affect the course of the country.

Whether you are a Republican or Democrat, this election may matter more than any in which you have participated in your life.

At no time have the issues been more pressing in recent memory and at no time have the tactics to suppress voting been more blatant.

If you have voted successfully, congratulate yourself and celebrate! If you haven't yet cast a ballot, get off your butt and go do it. Don't become a ghost voter whose voice is lost! If you have had troubles at the polls, contact a voter assistance group for help! Don't allow them to steal your vote!!

And now... to underscore my feelings are two videos. The first is Rachel Maddow speaking about how it is up to each of us to insure that our right to vote is not only exercised but also not suppressed or taken away:

The second video is an homage to the every day folks out there trying to insure the election is fair and open...

So, to the folks circulating the fake flyers, the election workers disenfranchising people who are there to cast votes for someone other than their personal choice, and to the politicians trying to silence the voices of the people.... I remind you.... [We'll] be watching you!
